Childish Gambino PHAROS Project

It sure has been a while since the world has seen Childish come out to play.

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino mysteriously reveals this week that he is dropping new music this year!  Until now, we haven’t seen much of Gambino, as he worked on his rap scene based cable show on FX  titled “Atlanta” due out later this year.

This would be the first music project Childish has dropped since 2014’s STN MTN/ Kauai mixtapes.   The actor/writer/rapper (he does all of it) released an app earlier this week titled “PHAROS,” revealing a countdown to a new music/full album experience on Labor Day weekend September 2, 3, 4 culminating in Joshua Tree, California.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Friday June 24 starting at 9am pacific. Pre-sale allows for single tickets or companion tickets. The General sale will happen June 27 at 9am pacific and will be single tickets only.  The show is an all ages event, beginning nightly at 6pm.

Tickets are $99, with available camping at no extra cost. Must be 21+ to stay at the campsite.

If my assumptions are correct, these September dates will not be the only shows that Childish Gambino will be doing.  Aside from Joshua Tree… possible dates in the Los Angeles, San Diego, and Las Vegas area are sure to follow.

UPDATE: My assumptions were incorrect, as the rapper tweeted that these will be the only live shows he will be doing in 2016.

For more information, download the PHAROS EARTH app, and visit the website.
