Two iconic American brands team up to mark Major League Baseball’s era of relocation and expansion. For half a century, the geography of major league baseball stood still, with the same teams playing in the same cities. But in a 10-year span from 1953-1963, six teams moved to new cities, four new teams joined the major leagues. The decade marked a new era of baseball in America, and brought a gold rush of new team names, logos and uniforms.
Now, America’s top vintage sportswear brands, Ebbets Field and Mitchell & Ness, are teaming up on a ballcap collection showcasing select American League and National League teams that defined baseball in this era: The Decade of Change Collection.
Ebbets Design Director Sunny Chang sees this unprecedented collection and the collaboration with Mitchell & Ness as a celebration of baseball history and American manufacturing. “Baseball is America’s game, and we’re proud to make these authentic ballcaps by hand in the U.S.” Chang adds, “Ebbets and Mitchell & Ness both have deep roots in baseball and authentic vintage apparel. We’re thrilled to bring fans a celebration of the cities and teams that made up this remarkable era.”
The Decade of Change collection will launch on 9/23/25, with ballcaps available at ebbets.com.
