New Balance and Jaden Smith are teaming up once again to launch the signature sneaker, the 0.01.
The highly anticipated evolution of New Balance and Jaden Smith’s relationship, the 0.01 puts Smith’s unique spin on the shoe, which draws inspiration from New Balance court styles. The silhouette is a low-top with an all-white upper with a full leather build and matching mesh tongue, with a “NB” logo printed along the upper. The sneaker includes a split midsole, a nod to Jaden’s previous model, which also included a midsole in the shape of a platform.
“I was excited to collaborate with New Balance again on a sneaker inspired by classic New Balance court silhouettes for a new generation, creating something completely different from previous collaborations, all while maintaining my signature style and craftsmanship New Balance is known for,” said Jaden Smith. “The vision behind the campaign is to lift up all the misfits and outcasts on the planet currently, not just a specific subgenre of castaways, but from all different cultures and ‘walks’ of life from all over the globe.”
Smith first debuted the 0.01 at Coachella in April, while performing on stage with his sister, Willow, and shared an exclusive early look of the sneaker at a pre-release event at New Balance’s Japanese flagship store New Balance T-House.
Launching globally on NewBalance.com starting October 12, 2023, the New Balance x MSFTSrep 0.01 will have a suggested retail pricing of $110 USD.
Smith has been a New Balance ambassador since 2019, and this collaboration marks New Balance and Smith’s third launch together. Smith worked with New Balance to create past silhouettes, inspired by the brand’s 1700 and X-Racer models in 2020, with additional colorway packs launched in 2021 and 2022; also in 2022, Smith put his unique twist on the 574.
