After an inspiring series of art workshops that took place June 5-8, Secret Walls and uni (uniball) will celebrate the graduates of POSCA uni-versity with a closing party on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 5 PM – 9 PM. Graduates from the program will be invited back to show off everything they learned in a classic Secret Walls 5-on-5 team battle at Secret Walls HQ, 2272 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90006. Four graduates will be paired with an instructor and have 90 minutes to ideate and create their artwork in front of an audience. Participating artists include Dreyfus, AngelOnce, GoopMassta, Upendo, Wotto, and special guest Mr. B Baby. The event is open-to-the-public and will feature host Nick Major, music by DJ Olea, renowned guest judges, food trucks, drinks, a doodle wall, and free giveaways. Los Angeles-based live art entertainment brand Secret Walls partnered with the global leader of writing and art instruments, uni, to bring back its Secret Walls Academy in-person this summer to local Los Angeles youth. This highly-anticipated Secret Walls Academy was coined as Secret Walls x POSCA uni-versity and took place from Monday, June 5 to Thursday, June 8, 2023. Los Angeles-based artists led instruction for 250 students with tips and tricks in DIY art, skate deck and vinyl toy customization, collaboration, doodling/illustration, and designing and developing characters. Guest speakers, Occupational Art Therapist and Arts Justice Educator Serena Au and Secret Walls Founder Terry Guy led conversations on the importance of art education among youth. As part of uni’s mission to enrich lives by inspiring creativity and connection, all students went home with a uni POSCA Carrying Case, uni POSCA Paint Markers, Secret Walls merchandise, a foundational art education, and a memorable kick-off to summer.
