Coal Headwear Launches ‘The Lucky Vision Collection’ with Artist Jess Mudgett

The collection draws inspiration from Mudgett’s creativity and on-the-go lifestyle.

Coal is excited to announce its partnership with artist Jess Mudgett, introducing unique headwear that reflects Jess’ personal and artistic style. The Lucky Vision Collection draws inspiration from Mudgett’s creativity and on-the-go lifestyle. Mudgett’s larger-scale works have been seen gracing the walls of many restaurants, coffee shops and various businesses from San Francisco to Reykjavik, Iceland. He is originally hailing from Colorado and now travels the western United States between Wyoming, Colorado, and Portland, Oregon, in his truck and 4-wheel camper. Coal is proud to introduce the Poudre and LV in collaboration with Jess Mudgett for The Lucky Vision Collection.

Mudgett encompasses the on-the-road everywhere, there, and in between, both in his personal and creative-professional lifestyle. A longtime lover of skateboarding and passionate surfer, Jess values the experiences and freedom he gets from traveling and making his own schedule as an artist. For Mudgett, it’s not about the money, but rather the joy from the accountability of knowing it is he who celebrates his artistic wins and acknowledges failing times. It’s what makes him happy.

“You get out what you put in and that’s been showing for me recently,” Mudgett said. “Happiness to me is worth its weight in gold.”

Encompassing Mudgett’s free spirit, Coal followed him to Tofino, a small district off Canada’s west coast, to capture his inspiration for the ‘The Lucky Vision Collection.’ Take a ride up the coast to Vancouver Island and check out the video here.

Sport your low-profile headwear in style with the one-of-a-kind front panel artwork by Mudgett. Made for days on the water with UPF 50+, the unstructured five-panel cap has a flat, floatable EVA brim and moisture-wicking sweatband and shell to keep you extra comfortable. The Poudre has a webbing strap-back with snap-lock closure, so you don’t have to worry about fitting the hat – the hat fits you.

Ride the roads from Colorado to Oregon alongside Mudgett with this vintage five-panel style. The flexible and curved brim is sustainable thanks to its recycled plastic features. The embossed leather patch at the front panel is a unique Mudgett style, complete with a mesh insert at the inside front panel for shape and full vintage vibes. Feel the freedom with the cotton material and adjustable leather strap-back.

If a beanie is more your style, look no further than the Coal Frena Beanie. A favorite go-to for Mudgett, you can likely spot him trailing the coast in one of these iconic beanies. To shop the Frena Thick Knit Cuff Beanie, click here.
