Coveted as one of “the best FW20 Footwear” of Fashion Week, the CREASE RUNNER is finally here.
Inspired by the past; inspiring the future. The Crease Runner is a blend of different materials and textures twisting a retro runner into an alternative futuristic sneaker. Representing the ultimate sense of freedom, the Crease Runner explores the outer limits of what’s possible for those who are not afraid of change.
The Crease Runner is designed by Filling Pieces’ in-house footwear designer, Martin Sallieres, who calls it his most personal project to date: “I have an emotional connection to this shoe. When we started the design in 2019, I had the chance to experiment and pay homage to a classic silhouette, delving deep into the archive of materials and colours to create something new. I like weird colours and materials, and this shoe has that. It’s a playful shoe; it doesn’t want to be serious.”
Combining different styles and elements such as the wrapped rubber outsole, two-tone split colourway, open foam tongue and oversized zigzag eyestays, this shoe creates a new set of rules for the modern runner silhouette.
Details: Nylon upper mixed with Nappa and Suede leather. Wrapped rubber outsole. Two-tone split coloured toe box. Nylon laces. Cork heel counter exclusively on the Teal/Yellow rendition.
Artistic direction of the campaign takes inspiration from the concept of ‘ALTER-’: the changing of appearance, character and structure. The Crease Runner is an unusual design. A cluster of materials formed to stand out, emphasising the freedom of design by its creator.
