PUMA And Motorola Link Up For Retro Sneaker Drop

Committed to push innovation and culture forward.

Sports brand PUMA and telecom company Motorola partner up to celebrate the reinvention of technology and sport style with an exclusive RS-X sneaker drop.

For 90 years, Motorola has pioneered innovation – be it delivering messages from the moon to creating the first mobile phone or developing the first 5G-upgradable smartphone, moto z3 with 5G moto mod. This collaboration brings together two cultural reinventors: one through sport and style, the other through tech and innovation for a nostalgia-packed collection, inspired by Motorola’s mobile phone designs.

“We are excited to partner with a brand that is equally committed to push innovation and culture forward,” said Adam Petrick, PUMA’s Global Director for Brand & Marketing. “Together with Motorola, we are taking the sneaker game to the next level with a brand-new iteration of the 80s RS style designed with tech-inspired details.”

“With over 90 years of innovation, Motorola has created some of the most beloved mobile phones that defined moments in fashion and pop culture.” said Renata Altenfelder, Motorola’s Global Brand Marketing Lead. “This collaboration with PUMA celebrates how style and technology continually inspire one another.”

PUMA x MOTOROLA CAPSULE COLLECTION DROPS IN RETRO STYLE

Inspired by Motorola’s mobile phone designs, RS-X Tech Motorola highlights specific cues that celebrate the mobile phones of the 80s, 90s and 2000s. With textures on the outer sole that are reminiscent of the mobile phone’s keypad, the sneakers are decked with “hellomoto” badging on the side and MOTO batwing subtly placed on heel badge. Made for a new generation of hustlers, it drops in a futuristic colorway of PUMA Silver – Sodalite Blue. Continuing with this theme across season appropriate apparel like tees, track top and shorts, the collection features Motorola colorways from the 80s and quirky graphics that represent different milestones in the evolution of communication – from pagers to brick phones followed by QWERTY keypad phones.

The RS-X TECH Motorola and RS-X Tech sneakers with extreme design details and a sleek, futuristic color palette drops globally on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and leading retailers on May 4.
