Only announced several days ago, the Don of D-Town and L.A.’s R&B princess: Big Sean and Jhené Aiko releases their eight track collaborative album called Twenty88.
After a few listens, the album shows to be a fantasticly twisted representation of a modern love story between two people reconnecting after some time away from each other. Sean and Jhené compliment each other so well throughout the album that you’d be surprised that they aren’t actually together in real life.
With standout tracks such as “On The Way” and “2 Minute Warning” featuring the iconic 90’s R&B duo: K-Ci & JoJo, the two take us through a seductively rabid journey through the various stages of their modern romance. From referencing their essential necessity for each others physical touch, to an even deeper urge for a “quickie,” this album is easily a classic for all those trying to get into their feelings, mixed with several drops of raw lyricism.
The album is a complete story. Fairytale or fucked up romance novel, Twenty88 has everything you could want in a story driven love story album. Sean and Jhené present their love story in such a receptive way that you become captivated in it…probably because it can be so relatable in many ways.
The album is now available to stream on Tidal and for purchase on iTunes.
