On Monday, March 30th, Jay Z officially announced his plans for the music streaming company named “TIdal.” The rap star and business mogul in charge of the investment group purchased the company for $56 million. This will be the first time a subscription music company will be mainly owned by the artists and is definitely a huge step for a new era in the music industry. Along side him at the press conference were Kanye West, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Coldpaly, and Beyoncé and many more. The company aims to compete with Spotify, who recently has received many complaints from artists about their subscriptions services. Be on the look out for Tidal to deliver exclusive music and content in a way the world has never seen.
