Flexfit and Pow! Wow! Worldwide bring their music training and mentorship course for young artists to Orange County, California with an opening party at The Yost Theater in Santa Ana, CA. The Pow! Wow! School of Music (PWSoM), originating in Honolulu, Hawaii, aims to enrich the lives of each individual artist in providing a creative, safe space for self-expression. The intensive one-week course takes 12 to 18 year olds through a specialized curriculum taught by handpicked mentors that develop students’ understanding of various musical genres and bridges the gap between art and music.
Classes are set to take place in downtown Santa Ana at NOTUS from May 16 – 21, 2016, with the goal to provide a resource for Orange County youth to creatively express themselves through music in a positive platform. Students have the opportunity to showcase their understanding of the curriculum as they collaborate with their mentors and peers in a unique, dynamic classroom setting that encourages students to participate in the creative process.
PWSoM mentors are tastemakers who have innovative, fresh ideas in their respective crafts. Each individual brings incredible contributions that will help the students understand how the creative process works and what it can look like for different people.
